FAQs

Q:  Who do I contact if my questions are not answered here?

A:  If you are playing with us for the frist time please read through the Information Guides (In-House and/or Travel) for answers to all your FAQ located under the League tab.  For follow up In-House questions please email coordinator, Lauren Case, inhouse.columbiayouthsoccer@gmail.com. For follow up Travel questions please email coordinator, Scott Joreski, travel.columbiayouthsoccer@gamil.com. For follow up general questions please contact President Bobby Petras @ 440-409-8485 or email columbiayouthsoccer@gmail.com.

Q.  What equipment do I need?

A:  Every player should have their own ball (although the program has extras if they need one), soccer-cleats or turf shoes (no baseball/football cleats!), shin guards and a water bottle. With the youngest group tennis shoes are ok. We will provide each child with a uniform to play in.

Q:  Do I have to volunteer?

A:  Our program is only sustainable through volunteer coaching, we would like as many parents as possible to volunteer. If you are interested in finding out more information about volunteer coaching please e-mail or call Bobby Petras.

Q: Where are games played?

A:  All of our In-House/home travel games and practices are played on the fields behind Columbia Elementary School.

Q: When are the games?

A. All In-House games are on Saturday mornings usually between 9am and 10am. Travel will also be on Saturdays with a few weekday games, but the time during the day varies.

Q. When will my team practice?

A. In-House typically practices on Tuesdays or Wednesday at 6:30. Travel typically practices on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30.  Parents of In-House players should indicate on your registration form which day best suits your schedule.

Q:  Do we get pictures?

A: Yes, we do have a picture day scheduled each season, time slots are assigned by team.

Q:  How many players are on a team?

A:  Each age group has a different system of play and as such there are different team sizes. It also is dependent on how many registrations for each age group we receive

Q: What if I want a more competitive option than In-House Soccer?

A: Yes, please visit the Travel section of our website located under the Leagues tab.

Q:  How are age groups formed? What does birth year team formation mean?

A:  Ideally we would have each birth year have their own age group. However with a community of this size it is not realistic. Currently, we offer a U3-U14. These ages will be determined by the number of registrations we receive.
